A Bath County mother, charged in the shooting death of her six year old daughter, is scheduled to go on trial today. Investigators say Darla Hise is charged with first degree murder in the death of Abigail Hise. The shooting happened in February. The trail is expected to last up to three days. Governor Terry McAuliffe will deliver remarks today in Lynchburg at the opening of "The Hopper" Downtown Circulator. The new, free bus service will provide a route for people to get around downtown during lunch hours weekdays. The service starts tomorrow. Sweet Briar College holds convocation this afternoon. Students will hear from new president Meredith Woo and Dean of the College Rob Granger. The college community will also celebrate the start of a new marketing campaign. Powerball fever continues to sweep the nation. The jackpot for tonight's drawing is $650 million. Your odds of winning are not great, with a one in 292 million chance.
